Hi friends, you must be knowing that I stitched a top and posted in my blog in the name of lining top.
Today I had an idea for using the remaining cloth for stitching a Churukku pai.
As the forthcoming season is a festive one with Vara Lakshmi Vratham and Navarathri, I thought that you can stitch this easily with scrap cloth and make it so beautiful to gift your friends and family.

Below is the step by step explanation of the procedure for stitching this bag.
This is the top material that I mentioned. I have taken approximately double the width of the required bag. I have taken 15inches length of cloth.
This is white lining cloth of same dimensions.
Now keeping the right side of cloth with wrong side of lining put a stitch along the width.
Now turn the lining inside and put a stitch along the upper side of th bag.
Then take the contrast colour band. Here I have taken the border of the top cloth.
Now cut it into half and fold the edges inside and stitch.
Then attach these bands on the basic cloth keeping right side of band facing right side of cloth.
Fold the band towards the inside of the width of 1inch.
Then fold the bag into half and stitch along two sides.
Now for the drawstring take a 2inch width cloth and fold to required width.
Now cut this into half and insert through the fold from both sides. Fix the string either side by putting a knot.
Your bag is ready.
Hope my explanation was clear. If you have any doubts be free to ask.
Thank you.
